Our Coffee Story

Our History

Mabuda is a family-run working farm tucked away in the Lubombo Mountains of Eswatini. For years, we’ve welcomed visitors looking for peace, quiet, and a good dose of Swazi hospitality.

In 2019, we launched Mabuda Farm Coffee — bringing together our love for the land and our passion for people. Our coffee is grown with care, shared with pride, and enjoyed everywhere from our farm café to coffee shops across Eswatini (and beyond!).

Our story actually goes way back. In 1959, Helen’s ancestor, Carl Todd, planted the very first coffee trees at Mabuda. Decades later, in 2010, Jonathan started planting new orchards, and by 2019, Mabuda Farm Coffee was officially born. What started as a few test rows of Arabica has grown into a thriving coffee estate.

We believe in ethical farming, sustainable practices, and empowering our local team through training, fair wages, and pride in their work. This isn't just about coffee — it's about community. Every cup of coffee supports livelihoods and strengthens our corner of rural Eswatini.

Mabuda Farm Coffee Today

Today our coffee is loved and enjoyed by locals and tourists across Eswatini!

We serve customers every day at Mabuda in The Green Shed. We also supply coffee to many fantastic hospitality businesses across Eswatini and regularly attend local events and festivals. If you'd love local, artisanal coffee at your event, we'd love to hear from you!
